  3. Converts cent-values into frequency. 1 cent is the  smallest change that the human ear can perceive, and it is used in acoustic theory to simplify calculations. Octave consists of 1200 cents. If c 0 is 0 cent then c 1 is 1200 cent and c 2 is 2400 cent. Each semitone consists of 100 cents.
